Categories for performance
consist of previously published, recorded and marketed sound recordings which
are registered in the “Film and Sound Recording Industries” including those
registered worldwide. These music genres involve a broad range of styles:
Folk
Bluegrass
Country
Rock
New Age
Jazz
Pop
Reggae World
Alternative
Fusion.
Funk
Hip Hop Etc
Applicants are required to use
discretion regarding lyrical content. The festival is open to the general
public therefore profanity is prohibited.
All applicants must complete the form included in the syllabus with the enclosed adjudication form. Many performers are not currently enrolled in music lessons, therefore teachers are not required to submit performers into categories.

Application Form
Form information called for plus some others questions on the form itself.
1. Musical genre
2. Title
3. Writer and publisher
4. Performers and ages (the
number of performers in a group is not limited)
5. Musical background and
influences of each performer
6. Instrumentation (exact name
of instruments)
Performers must provide all their own, sound equipment.
The facility for performance will be announced.
7. Vocalists must supply a lyric
sheet for the adjudicator.
8. Musical scores used in the
performance(s) must also be supplied to the
adjudicator.
Photocopies of printed, published music will not be permitted includinq photocopies of lyric sheets
9. Duration (max. 15 minutes)
10. Set -up time (max. 20
minutes)
The adjudicator will judge the
performance of all applicants. Any soloing or improvising must be stated in the
application. If performances include choreography, this must be stated in the
application. Each applicant is required to state their role in the performance.
The adjudicator will be judging stage presence, musicianship, dynamic levels,
rhythmic pulse, arrangement structure, emotional content.
NOTE: Applicants in the
‘Electronic and Acoustic Music - Original Composition Classes: At
least one of the performers must be the composer. The compositions submitted
into the festival must be unpublished. Performers will not be required to
provide the adjudicator with a music score unless they are reading a score
during the performance. Vocalists are required to supply the adjudicator with a
lyric sheet
